One of the biggest challenges faced by Technology departments across most Law Firms
today is now easily solved with LegalCast by Taladro Systems, Inc. The enormous
task of finding a common language to extract data from multiple sources, find relevant
information in a more efficient manner and deliver it in a standard industry format,
is solved with LegalCast.
As with most law firms, attorneys and staff are often required to manually run reports
on a daily, weekly or monthly basis to uncover information that is pertinent to
them. The inefficiencies inherent in forcing attorneys and staff to continually
seek out these reports, as compared to automatically delivering them in real-time
is a recognized problem. In addition, law firms are particularly interested in finding
methods to readily access, combine and distribute data residing in disparate databases
and other types of information repositories, including a mechanism to notify users
when a change or update has been made.
Ken Schultz, President of Taladro Systems and CIO of Greenberg Traurig, determined
that delivering information to attorneys and staff via RSS feeds would be a huge
improvement over the existing browse and search information delivery methods as
well as the other usual suspects such as Browser Based inquiries and reports.
Really Simple Syndication (RSS) is an XML-based format for content distribution.
While RSS was at one point only considered to be a means to deliver news headlines,
RSS has quickly become a powerful medium to disseminate all kinds of information.
Taladro Systems has positioned itself for the coming growth of the “subscribe” model
for information-sharing delivery.
Attorneys and staff spend countless hours every day searching and sifting through
data to find the relevant information. With LegalCast, there’s no need to waste
valuable time trying to find the right information. Instead, timely and relevant
RSS feeds are delivered to these employees via a consumer of their choice, be it
Microsoft Outlook, Web browsers, Windows applications and mobile devices – all synchronized
and formatted consistently for each selected consumer. LegalCast consists of a number
of custom business rules modules that extract relevant information from data sources
such as web sites, databases, file systems, email messages, etc; a delivery module
that pushes the information to different devices and applications (information consumers);
and a web-based module that allows the users to set up their preferences (data sources,
schedules and consumers).
